This website is designed to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with Australian Government policies and programmes and raise awareness about the initiatives that affect you most. The site shares stories from individuals, communities and organisations across Australia, telling real stories about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the challenges and opportunities facing them, and the successes and achievements being demonstrated every day.


Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies 

 The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is a world-renowned research, collections and publishing organisation. We promote knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, traditions, languages and stories, past and present.


Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (QLD) 

The department provides whole-of-government leadership in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy, and service delivery.


Recognise 

RECOGNISE is the people’s movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution and ensure there’s no place in it for racial discrimination.

Our role has a very specific focus. It is to raise awareness of the need to end the exclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from the Australian Constitution and deal with racial discrimination in it.


Yugambeh Museum 

The Yugambeh Museum, Language and Heritage Research Centre aims to record and promote the traditional knowledge of our region, especially the Yugambeh language, which was spoken throughout south east Queensland.
